During a road trip to the airport, Fade questions whether her niece’s departure from Nigeria is truly for the best.
Directed by
Rashida Seriki is an award-winning British-Nigerian writer and filmmaker. Her latest short film, Leaving Ikorodu In 1999, a film set in Lagos, Nigeria, has screened at over 20 film festivals and art exhibitions worldwide. It won the City of Melbourne Grand Prix for Best Short Film at Melbourne International Film Festival, qualifying for the Academy Awards Best Live Action Short Film 2026 and longlisted for Best British Film at 2025 British Independent Film Awards (BIFAs). She has several feature projects in development including revenge thriller, Blood Coloured Tears with Film4, and for TV she has been been nominated for an All3Media Edinburgh TV Festival New Voice Award, has written for We Are Lady Parts (Channel 4/Peacock) and Eastenders (BBC), and is developing an original series with VAL and ITV. In 2025, Rashida Seriki was named 1 of 40 women on Elle Magazine’s Women In Film And Television Power List. She holds a Masters in Black British Literature.
