By Uranranebi Agbeyegbe

Part of Being Black in Canada (Toronto). Movement is a story about the beginnings of Black Lives Matter Toronto. In this short story, Rodney Diverlus gives us an insight into what it was like to be part of the inception of a global movement while also chasing his own dreams of becoming a dancer. Rodney takes us on a journey from his upbringing across North America speaking about what it means to be Black and Queer in today's world. Attending University at Ryerson and getting involved with student organizing Rodney realizes what it takes to bring about change in the world we live in.
